| Details | The peptide EAGDDIVPCSMSYTWTGA which mimics the NS5A-5B cleavage junction of the nonstructural protein (NS) is an efficient substrate used by Shimuzu et al. to detect NS3 protease activity in a standard assay (Km = 411 µM and kcat = 0.14 min⁻¹, without NS4 activator). Cleavage occurs between Cys and Ser. The cleavage products are analyzed by RP-HPLC. |
